Dear Clients, Friends, Family, Neighbors, Everyone…
For those of you who I have had the privilege of representing in a real estate transaction, you know I get really attached to my clients. Honestly, I feel like the mama tiger during the process—loyal, committed, protective. Real estate is a business, but it’s also filled with a lot of emotion. And it should be! Buying or selling a home is a big life transition and a heart-centered approach makes the entire process more connected and much more rewarding and effective from start to finish.
I encourage my buyers to really tap into their hearts when looking for a new home. It’s their job to fall in love with a property, to find a place that feels right. It’s my job to nurture them through the process and bring grounded thinking and reality into every transaction. I had a buyer a few months ago who desperately wanted to put in an offer on a home with 100+ stairs leading to the front door. The home and those stairs weren’t a good match for her current, pregnant, body and future young family not to mention a property I thought wouldn’t appreciate well. Like I do so many times, I reigned my client in and highly discouraged her from moving forward. She was truly in love with the home but I got her grounded in reality and in the end, she thanked me for guiding her towards a much better fit. I want my buyers to know they can rely on me for the heavy lifting and they can move forward with their hearts. It’s important for them to get excited about new properties knowing that I will have their back, take care of them, and make sure their hearts lead them into a great investment.
On the flip side, with my sellers, I work closely with them to present and market their homes in ways that create an instant connection right from the curb that grows into the “this is my dream home” feeling as the rest of the property is unveiled. Sometimes this requires a total transformation and sometimes it’s a simpler path. With sellers, I focus on how we want to make potential buyers feel. When buyers walk through a property for the first time they are looking from their hearts and leaning into the question “does this FEEL like home?” Turning a house into a home is my team's specialty and ultimately what helps fetch the higher trade prices for my listings.

The last several months have been a big decision-making time for our high school seniors…time for them to look into their hearts and make plans for what they want to do after high school. Personally, I am so proud of the youth in our community with everything they’ve been through the last two years. Mask mandates and Covid testing and quarantining are not something we had to grow up with, but the grace with which the children and adolescents in our community have adapted is inspiring! There is a lot of stress for high school seniors this time of year. I am planning to take a break from asking graduating seniors in my orbit, “what are you going to do next?” Instead, I plan to focus on how they are doing right now. Their next steps will come soon enough, so right now I want to congratulate and celebrate them for where they are, how far they have come in a challenging world, and encourage them to follow their heart no matter what their next path looks like!
