Giving Back!

 

I have always been passionate about volunteering and I must admit although I do donate to many organizations this past year I have not been giving of my time as I want to be. More importantly, I haven’t been getting my family involved as much either. One of my intentions for 2019 is for my family to volunteer at least once per month. So I am very grateful for our family volunteering at the Gilead House last night. Their mission is to inspire hope and empower homeless single moms and their children toward financial stability and independence. I was so amazed with this organization and how much they are doing to support these lovely families. The 4 of us played with the kids while their moms were in a group session. I am extremely proud of my daughters and my husband who all showed up with love, kindness and the desire to give of their time. We are all looking forward to going back again soon. Big shout out to White Hill Middle Schools Children for Change program who compile volunteer opportunities to encourage families to give back to our community which is how we learned about Gilead House.
