If you know and love mid-century architecture, you will love this home. If you love the 1950s Sunset magazine vibe, this is the place for you. This home is special. It’s an oasis in its simplicity, its immersion in nature, its views, its openness and coziness.

This home is full of light. The wall of windows in the great room makes it feel as though you are living with the surrounding environment. Watching the hills across the valley change from golden summer brown to Ireland green in the late fall is pure delight. You will have a front row view of spectacular sunrises and dramatic winter rains across the valley.

This home has history. The original owner raised her two boys - Ken and Rick - in this home and subsequently named the street Kenrick after them! She also owned a horse that lived in the aptly named “Stable”. The original dutch doors in the Stable still harken to that time, and you will see that we’ve preserved the window frames on which the horse lazily gnawed.

This home is immersed in nature. It is surrounded by oaks (including one of just a few Cork Oaks in Marin County) that are regularly visited by red-tailed hawks and owls. The spring that feeds the water fountain in the backyard comes right out of the hills above and provides a beautiful soothing sound year round.

21 Kenrick is private and has sweeping views but it is still within easy biking and walking distance to Fairfax and San Anselmo. It has that special combination of feeling like you are truly “away” and yet you are within reach of your community.
